Founding Senior Software Engineer

The Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Engineer to join our team as the third hire. You will work closely with our CEO/CTO who has a proven track record of launching four successful #1 social apps like Gas, Poparazzi, NGL, and Monkey. Your primary responsibility will be to help build and scale our iOS application from the ground up, contributing to all aspects of the development process.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and maintain the core architecture of our platform, working on both frontend and backend systems.
• Collaborate with the team to define and implement new features, ensuring seamless integration across the app.
• Set up and manage AWS infrastructure, using Terraform and Docker for efficient deployment and management.
• Contribute to product strategy, bringing your technical expertise to discussions on feature prioritization and roadmap planning.
• Mentor and guide future engineers as we grow the team, ensuring best practices and high-quality code standards are maintained.
• Innovate and iterate, staying ahead of trends in software engineering and bringing fresh ideas to the table.

Ideal Candidate:

• Proven experience as a software engineer with expertise in both frontend and backend technologies.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js/TypeScript or similar high-performance languages.
• A passion for social technology and a belief in our mission to foster genuine human connection through innovative solutions.
• Startup experience or a demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• A collaborative mindset, with a desire to work closely with a small, driven team to build something impactful from the ground up.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and contribute creative solutions to complex challenges.

Bonus Points:

• Strong backend knowledge with experience in Node.js/TypeScript or Rust with a strong understanding of database connectivity.
• Experience with AWS infrastructure setup and management, with a deep understanding of Terraform and Docker.
