Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team, focusing on the design, development, and optimization of industrial composting machines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience in bringing innovative products to market. This role also involves active participation in NPI projects and close collaboration with supply chain teams to ensure the efficient sourcing and integration of components essential for the development and production of composting systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Design, develop, and optimize industrial composting machines, focusing on performance, durability, and environmental sustainability.
  • NPI Engineering: Lead and support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, contributing mechanical engineering expertise to take new composting products from concept through to full-scale production.
  • Supply Chain Collaboration: Collaborate with the supply chain team to source and integrate mechanical components, ensuring they meet the required specifications, cost, and delivery timelines for NPI and existing products.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Develop prototypes of composting machines and conduct rigorous testing to validate designs, ensuring compliance with operational, environmental, and safety standards.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed technical documentation, including CAD drawings, specifications, and user manuals, to support manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives in both product design and manufacturing processes, leveraging feedback and industry best practices.
  • Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during the design, prototyping, and production phases, ensuring product reliability and performance.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on industrial machinery, environmental technology, or composting systems.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for designing and modeling mechanical systems.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles, thermodynamics, and materials science relevant to composting technologies.
  • Experience with prototyping, testing, FEA and validation of industrial machinery.
  • NPI and Supply Chain Experience: Proven experience in NPI processes and working with supply chain teams to ensure component availability and alignment with project goals.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality and budgetary requirements.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in mechanical engineering, project management, or supply chain management are a plus.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for site visits, supplier evaluations, and product installations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
