We are seeking a seasoned, highly motivated and intellectually curious Azure Engineer to join our team working with a Federal client. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Microsoft Windows, Azure cloud services, specifically with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and will be proficient in infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform and GitLab CI/CD pipelines. This role will focus on designing, deploying, and managing scalable and secure cloud environments to meet the needs of our enterprise clients.
The position will be a remote role open to US citizens residing in the United States with an ACTIVE SECRET security clearance.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Design, deploy, and manage Azure infrastructure, with a focus on Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform to automate the deployment and management of cloud resources.
- Implement and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using GitLab.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable and secure cloud solutions.
- Monitor and optimize cloud resources to ensure cost-effectiveness, performance, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure infrastructure and AVD environments.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices in cloud operations.
- Provide documentation, training, and support to internal teams and clients as needed.
- Stay current with the latest Azure features, best practices, and industry trends.
- Support Windows related engineering tasks in AWS.
- Work in a fast-paced Agile environment with fluid requirements and changing priorities
- Respond to technical issues in a professional and timely manner
- Work closely with customers to implement and/or consult requested solutions
- Possess considerable logic and understanding to analyze and troubleshoot problems
- Must be able to work independently with little to no daily supervision, is a team player, open to ideas and learning.
- Work in a distributed team environment where team members are spread across numerous locations and often communicate virtually to support clients.
Minimum Requirements
- Ability to work with US Federal clients and possess an ACTIVE SECRET clearance
- Proven experience as an Azure Engineer with a strong focus on Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
- Proficiency in using Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate cloud resource management.
- Experience with GitLab for CI/CD pipeline creation and management.
- Strong understanding of Azure networking, security, and governance best practices.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Desired Skills
- Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator (AZ-104), Azure Solutions Architect
- (AZ-305), or Azure DevOps Engineer (AZ-400) or other Microsoft equivalent certifications
- Experience with other IaC tools such as Ansible or ARM templates.
- Familiarity with other DevOps tools and practices such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Gitlab.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Experience with enterprise-level deployments and managing cloud environments.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to take the initiative to complete tasks with minimal supervision
- Skilled in verbal, written and oral communication
- Strong team player with a great attitude

Education Requirement
- 4 year Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Eng or related (highly preferred)
