Backend Engineer

Our team is looking for a pragmatic mid-level backend engineer who applies solid software engineering principles to build simple abstractions for complex problems and enjoys working in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in defining the architecture and foundational work alongside senior team members
• Contribute to technical decisions and strategy to further the product vision
• Work on a modern tech stack including serverless infrastructure, event-based architecture, NestJS, and Svelte
• Design, develop, and maintain microservices and their unit, integration, and system tests
• Participate in product roadmap discussions and offer perspectives
• Evaluate new technologies, ideas, and approaches

Your Profile

• At least 3 years of experience in software development; experience using Node.js is a plus
• Agile mindset with high-quality fast-feedback delivery loops and excellent collaboration skills
• Good understanding of the challenges, goals, and best practices of modern web development
• Solid work experience with JavaScript, Node.js, and TypeScript; NestJS knowledge is a plus
• Experience in building distributed systems and microservice architecture
• Passion for writing clean, modular code that is easy to maintain, update, test, and scale
• Understanding of asynchronous programming
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Proactive in staying updated with the latest developments in the web world
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with the team and stakeholders
• Ability to work well in a team environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
