Staff Software Engineer, Enclave

Enclave Markets is a pioneering cryptocurrency exchange that operates within a secure enclave, ensuring unparalleled security and trust. Our backend team is at the forefront of developing cutting-edge financial products, including perpetual futures and a dark pool. Surpassing $1 billion in total trading volume, our platform is trusted by a growing community of traders. We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to help us enhance our platform's functionality, performance, and security.

We offer flexible working arrangements: About one-third of our company is based in our New York City office, while the rest of our team works remotely from locations within and outside the US. We welcome remote engineers from any location, provided they can maintain some overlap with US time zones.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Lead the development and maintenance of the cryptocurrency exchange within a trusted execution environment (secure enclave)
• Architect and oversee the implementation of new financial products such as perpetual futures, including handling liquidations, funding rates, data storage, and APIs
• Enhance performance and scalability of the exchange
• Work on blockchain integrations such as digital asset transfers and Web3 authentication mechanisms
• Build tools for analytics including reconciliation, PNL calculations, trade analysis, and dashboards
• Drive security improvements by establishing best practices and collaborating with security assessment firms
• Proactively identify opportunities for new projects or improvements within the platform, and develop compelling proposals to secure buy-in from stakeholders
• Lead cross-functional initiatives by assembling and guiding teams, setting project scope and timelines, and ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend engineers, designers, product, and security experts, to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Lead and mentor engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• B.S. in Computer Science or related discipline
• 5+ years experience in backend development
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
• Curiosity and self-learning: A strong curiosity and eagerness to learn, especially about the latest information in blockchain technology and finance
• Self-driven mindset: Ability to identify opportunities and execute on them independently

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with Golang
• Experience with financial systems, trading platforms, or exchanges
• Experience with blockchain technology
• Experience with security and cryptography

Salary Range: $172,400 to $215,400
