Investment Manager, Avalanche Foundation

This role will sit within the Avalanche Foundation Treasury and will be located in the Cayman. The responsibilities will be to develop, implement, and manage the on chain portfolio and the algorithmic trading strategies deployed on both centralized and decentralized exchanges. The role involves writing high-quality Python code for asset management / trading algorithms, understanding complex financial instruments such as options and perpetual futures, as well as decentralized finance protocols.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Design, implement, maintain, and monitor algorithmic trading strategies using Python, including backtesting and optimization
• Continuously refine and improve trading strategies based on performance metrics and market conditions
• Design, deploy, and manage the on-chain portfolio
• Analyze market trends, volatility, and liquidity to identify trading opportunities and keep the investment team abreast of them
• Maintain detailed documentation of trading algorithms, strategies, and performance metrics
• Provide regular reports on trading performance, strategy effectiveness, and market analysis

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• Must be willing to move to Cayman or already live in Cayman
• 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
• Proven experience in algorithmic trading with a strong track record of developing and implementing trading strategies.
• Proficiency in Python with experience in writing and optimizing trading algorithms.
• Deep understanding of spot, options, and perps markets.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and adaptability to dynamic market conditions.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
• This is not a high frequency trader role.
• Must understand blockchain and have used different DeFi protocols.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of integrity and transparency in trading practices.
