About the job
The HARP Research team is looking for 1 intern from a Linguistics and/or CS background to help conduct research and develop our cutting edge linguistic ontologies used in our AI products.
We offer hybrid/remote opportunities to any accepted candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct linguistic research: Explore linguistic theories and models to enhance AI language processing capabilities.
- Develop NLP algorithms: Work on natural language processing algorithms to improve understanding and generation of human language by AI.
- Collaborate with AI engineers: Provide linguistic expertise to support the development of AI models.
- Experiment and validate models: Design experiments to validate the effectiveness of NLP models.
- Stay updated on linguistic advancements: Keep abreast of the latest research in linguistics and AI to inform ongoing projects.
Qualifications:
- Learning on the Fly: We are looking for individuals who can learn as they go, and pick up new skills as necessary
- Languages: Proficiency in Python, and familiarity with C / C++
- Communication and Organization: Proficient with GitHub issues and Discord
- Linguistic Background: A formal (or informal) educational background in linguistics
- Scientific Literacy: The ability to read and interpret scientific literature
- Creative Thinking: Can you solve a new, previously unsolved problem?
- Tools and Libraries: Applicants with familiarity with the following are preferred:
- Spacy, Stanza, or AllenNLP
