About the job

Who We Are:

At VML, we are a beacon of innovation and growth in an ever-evolving world. Our heritage is built upon a century of combined expertise, where creativity meets technology, and diverse perspectives ignite inspiration. With the merger of VMLY&R and Wunderman Thompson, we have forged a new path as a growth partner that is part creative agency, part consultancy, and part technology powerhouse.

Our global family now encompasses over 30,000 employees across 150+ offices in 64 markets, each contributing to a culture that values connection, belonging, and the power of differences. Our expertise spans the entire customer journey, offering deep insights in communications, commerce, consultancy, CRM, CX, data, production, and technology. We deliver end-to-end solutions that result in revolutionary work.

We are looking for a Senior UX Designer to join our CX team and drive the design efforts for our digital products. You will be responsible for defining and creating intuitive user interfaces and seamless user experiences for various client accounts.

You will be joining a recently revamped CX team that boasts skills in strategy, research, and visual design, and is distributed across three countries. Our projects are diverse, and our clients span various sectors and geographies.

Our vision is to expand our offering and team to solidify our presence, and this role will be pivotal to that success. The team currently addresses challenges across key pillars of Customer Experience: Audience Understanding & Insights, CX Strategy, Experience Design, and CX Measurement.

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • At least five years of agency experience with a proven track record of leading large-scale projects in a collaborative manner.
  • Experience designing multi-channel digital experiences, including for Arabic audiences.
  • Portfolio showcasing sketches, maps, diagrams, journeys, wireframes, and hi-fidelity UI.
  • Proficiency in visual design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Adobe Creative Suite) and experience with both hi-fidelity and lo-fidelity prototyping.
  • Expertise designing end-to-end, from research to hi-fidelity outputs.
  • Ability to envision, create, communicate and revise user flows.
  • Ability to create personas, customer journey maps, but more importantly understand when it's possible and not possible to create validated outputs.
  • Experience creating comprehensive, documented, design systems, reusable component libraries, and implementing nested component architectures.
  • Collaborated with development teams for seamless integration of design components.
  • Excellent time-management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

You should be:

  • Based in Beirut, or be willing to relocate.
  • A native Arabic speaker.
  • Willing to work primarily in the office although we do offer the opportunity to work from home two days per week.
  • Able to focus on the fine detail of a problem, whilst considering the wider strategic context.
  • Comfortable being both hands-on as well as providing clear direction to others.
  • Able to visually and verbally communicate your ideas effectively to clients and colleagues alike.
  • Able to play nicely with account teams, strategists, designers, analysts, developers and other talented types throughout the agency and wider network.
  • Ability to present and defend designs to peers and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Focus on fine detail while considering the wider strategic context.

It would also be a bonus if you

  • Have experience managing or mentoring UX colleagues.
  • Have any experience of UX psychology and how to apply it ethically.
  • Experience with conversion optimisation projects, including A/B or multivariate testing.
