About the job

About us @Symphony

We’ve spent the last 10 years building the financial markets largest, most trusted communication network. Over 500 market participants across the buy-side, sell-side, securities servicing, and beyond. Over half a million users from trading desks to operations and custody teams interacting securely and in real-time on Symphony.

But that was only chapter one. We’re now using our technology foundation to accelerate far beyond secure collaboration to become the standard connective layer that enables more efficient and automated workflows across the industry to bring the future to financial markets.

The opportunity and our ambition are huge. But we need passionate, dedicated individuals to get there. At Symphony we work hard and fast. Our unique blend of technology and financial services makes it an environment you won't get elsewhere.

Role Description:

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will work with Agile engineering teams to provide production insight into running and operating software at-scale in a globally distributed highly available cloud based system. You will guide the team to consider scale-out implications and operational support implications of the choices they make during the development cycle to help foster an ownership in production mentality within the team. You will play a hands-on role helping the team meet ambitious technical, operational, schedule, and business requirements. The ideal candidate will be a systems thinker with a passion for creating products that deliver incredible customer experiences and have deep experience with operational automation, data driven metrics collection, and a true desire to automate it rather than do it repeatedly.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage our global AWS services and infrastructure while assisting in the deployment and roll-out of new features and products.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and troubleshoot application and service issues or system outages while clearly communicating status updates with management and engineering teams.
  • Subscribe to the DevOps mentality and the philosophy of automating everything.
  • Build and implement CI/CD solutions in an AWS environment with Jenkins / ArgoCD at the center, and automate the code delivery pipeline with the goal of one click deployments, rollbacks, and parameterized builds.
  • Work with the development team to cross-pollinate SRE/DevOps processes and ensure that new architectures are drawn up with operability, stability and scalability in mind.
  • Serve as a key member of the SRE team while managing the overall system health, performance, and capacity of Cloud9 internal and client facing systems.

Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with AWS (e.g. EC2, EKS, Aurora MySQL, S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, etc…)
  • Experience with Containers and Kubernetes
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g. Terraform, Ansible)
  • Experience in Unix/Linux administration and scripting (e.g. Bash, Python)
  • Experience with logging/monitoring (e.g. DataDog, Splunk)
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with CI/CD with GitHub/Jenkins/ArgoCD
  • Google Cloud Platform experience
  • Networking experience
  • ITIL knowledge

Compensation:

  • Competitive salary
  • Bonus Plan
  • Benefits and Perks vary based on location.

Benefits and Perks:

  • Regional specific competitive benefits
  • Build your own Benefits (BYOB) perk
  • Many other fun and exciting benefits and activities!
