Data Engineer Intern

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Engineer Intern to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Master's student in a relevant field (Computer Science, Statistics, etc.) to gain valuable industry experience or for someone looking for a company to partner with for their Master's thesis.

We are excited to announce an internship opportunity within our organisation! This is a 11-month, full-time Work Placement Internship.

Useful Information

• Open to applicants who are nationals of the EU or hold a valid visa that covers the desired internship duration.
• Reimbursement of travel expenses for taking up the appointment and leaving may be covered by a lump sum.
• A flat-rate allowance of €900 per month will be provided as a contribution towards living expenses.
• Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview or test and informed of the selection outcome.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, testing, deploying, and monitoring cloud data pipelines.
• Work with SQL and relational databases (e.g., Postgres) to extract, transform, and load data.
• Leverage your Python skills (2+ years of experience) to automate data processing tasks.
• Collaborate with the other team members to ensure data quality, reliability, and efficiency.
• Be open to learning and exploring all aspects of cloud data pipelines, particularly those built on AWS (S3, Lambda, Aurora, etc.).
• Manage multiple projects and tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Communicate clearly and concisely with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve data pipeline challenges.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Statistics, etc.) OR Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 2+ relevant experience OR Enrolled in a Master's program in a relevant field seeking a company for a Master's thesis partnership.
• Strong understanding of SQL and proficiency in working with relational databases (e.g., Postgres).
• 2+ years of experience working with Python.
• A willingness to learn and explore cloud data pipelines, particularly those built on AWS (S3, Lambda, Aurora, etc.).
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
