About Us:
We are a leading VC firm specializing in investments within the Bitcoin ecosystem. Our mission is to identify, fund, and support the most promising startups building DeFi, Infrastructure, Tooling, Marketplaces and Dev Tools for Bitcoin. We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive team and drive financial strategy and performance.

Position Overview:
The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, strategies, and operations of the firm. This includes financial planning, reporting, risk management, and investor relations. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the crypto and web3 space, preferably Bitcoin, coupled with extensive experience in venture capital finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy and Planning:

    • Develop and implement financial strategies that support the firm’s investment goals and growth plans.
    • Conduct financial forecasting, budgeting, and analysis to inform strategic decisions.
    • Evaluate and manage the firm's financial performance, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
    • Lead strategic improvements to help position our fund as a top crypto fund in the space.
  • Accounting and Financial Reporting:

    • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
    • Coordinate audits and manage relationships with external auditors.
  • Fund Management:

    • Manage the firm’s capital structure, including fundraising activities and capital allocation.
    • Oversee the financial operations of investment funds, including valuations, distributions, and performance reporting.
    • Ensure efficient management of cash flow and liquidity.
  • Risk Management:

    • Identify and mitigate financial risks related to investments, operations, and market conditions.
    • Implement robust internal controls and risk management frameworks.
    • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and ensure compliance within the crypto and web3 landscape.
    • Support Analyst and Associates in the Due Diligence stage.
  • Investor Relations:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, providing regular updates on fund performance and strategic initiatives.
    • Prepare and present financial reports and analyses to stakeholders, including the board of directors and limited partners.
    • Lead fundraising efforts and communicate the firm’s value proposition to potential investors.
  • Team Leadership:

    • Build and lead a finance/operations team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
    • Collaborate with other executive leaders to drive the firm’s overall strategy and operations.
    • Promote a data-driven approach to decision-making across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, with significant exposure to venture capital or private equity.
  • Strong understanding of the crypto, Bitcoin, and web3 space, including blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, and decentralized finance (DeFi).
  • Proven track record of financial leadership and strategic planning in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
