About the Role:
As an Embedded Hardware Engineer at Noah Automate, you will play a pivotal role in the development of our next-generation home automation products. You will be part of a dynamic team responsible for designing and implementing embedded hardware solutions, including 2-layer PCBs, power control systems, and managing complex SMD components. This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting projects at the intersection of hardware and software, contributing to the success of innovative products that will shape the future of home automation.
Key Responsibilities:
PCB Design: Design and layout 2-layer PCBs for home automation products, ensuring optimal performance, signal integrity, and manufacturability.
Power Control: Develop power control systems for various home automation devices, including power management ICs, voltage regulators, and battery management circuits.
Component Selection: Manage complex SMD components, including microcontrollers, sensors, wireless modules, and other electronic components, to meet design requirements and performance specifications.
Prototyping: Prototype and test embedded hardware designs, utilizing rapid prototyping techniques to validate concepts and iterate on designs as needed.
Hardware Integration: Collaborate with software engineers to integrate embedded hardware with firmware and software applications, ensuring seamless functionality and interoperability.
Testing and Validation: Conduct thorough testing and validation of embedded hardware designs, including functional testing, performance testing, and reliability testing, to ensure quality and reliability.
Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documentation, including schematics, PCB layouts, BOMs, design specifications, and test reports, to facilitate manufacturing and troubleshooting processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software engineers, product managers, and external partners, to align design goals with technical requirements and business objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in PCB design and layout, with a strong understanding of PCB design principles and best practices.
- Experience in power control systems design, including power management ICs, voltage regulators, and battery management circuits.
- Proficiency in managing complex SMD components, including microcontrollers, sensors, wireless modules, and other electronic components.
- Hands-on experience with hardware prototyping and testing, including soldering, rework, and debugging.
- Familiarity with embedded systems development, including firmware development and software-hardware integration.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Altium Designer or other PCB design software is preferred.
- Prior experience in the home automation or IoT industry is a plus.
