About the job
About the Team
The New Verticals team is building the future of local commerce through expanding our product offerings on our marketplace platform. We launched in 2019 and have since then built world-class operations to delight our customers with access to Grocery, Convenience, Alcohol, and Retail delivery through our marketplace. You’ll also see products like DoubleDash & Gift Cards sitting within our New Verticals team. We have multiple Senior Associate positions open across our DoubleDash, Grocery and Gift Cards business today.
About the Role
As a Senior Associate, you will play a critical role in driving growth and success to the business you support. You will dive into data to identify customer pain points, define growth areas and run operational experiments to test and learn new ways to operate. You will have the opportunity to work on initiatives ranging from consumer growth, merchant excellence, quality improvements, expansion efforts and so much more. We are currently operating in a hybrid model, some time in-office and some time remote but it is quite flexible! Given we have multiple roles open on this team at the Senior Associate level, you’ll be considered for all the roles we have open and we align based on interview performance and business priority the best mutual fit after a completed interview process!
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Build. You’ll have your fingerprints all over DoorDash’s New Verticals business, across small, medium and enterprise businesses. You’ll do whatever it takes to launch, get 1% better every day, and scale something completely new. This means everything from high-level strategy to nitty-gritty operational details.
- Strategize. From first principles, you’ll support in developing the optimal strategy for best serving our customers.
- Experiment. You’ll transform strategies into operational experiments that create measurable and actionable outcomes, informing your larger initiative implementation plans.
- Analyze. You’ll analyze the customer and use that data to inform strategy. You’ll assess the operational and financial impacts of your decisions, and iterate based on data.
We’re excited about you because…
- You solve problems from first principles. You’re excited to think innovatively, and you resist “this is how it’s always been done” thinking.
- You are an operator. You don’t hesitate to get in the weeds and operate at the lowest level of detail, but you’re also able to think long-term. You will experience our operation first hand, to inform your strategy.
- You’re analytical. You’re comfortable building complex SQL queries across multiple data sources and have experience with data visualization and dashboarding tools
- You’re unafraid of ambiguity. Rapid change and learning is exciting to you, and you thrive in ambiguous, startup environments
- You have 3+ years of experience. You’ve succeeded in high-performing cultures (tech, operations, strategy, consulting, banking, or a related experience).
- You have a completed Bachelor’s Degree.
