The Data Science & Analytics organization's mission is to increase our speed, frequency and acumen of making decisions at scale by instilling a data-influenced approach to building products. We cover a wide area of the data spectrum including analytical data engineering, product analytics, experimentation, causal inference, statistical modeling and machine learning. Aligned and partnering with product verticals, we use this extensive tool belt to discover new opportunities and unmet use cases, influence and shape the product roadmap and prioritization, build data products and measure impact on our community of players and developers.

At Roblox, our mission is to connect a billion people with optimism and civility. We are seeking a data science leader to join our Data Science & Analytics organization. As a Senior Manager, Business Outlook & Insights, you will leverage your expertise in analytics, stats and causal inference to inform, evaluate and enhance our company growth strategy. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven strategies that maximize the impact of our user growth initiatives. Additionally, you will directly partner with the Head of International on expansion strategies and support our marketing teams, driving business outlook and insight initiatives. You'll also report to Senior Leadership within Data Science.

You Will:

• Lead a small and mighty team of data professionals to focus on company growth, including reporting, forecasting, diagnostics and strategic analysis to inform company strategies and product planning.
• Directly partner with the Head of International and Finance teams to develop data-driven strategies for global expansion and user growth.
• Collaborate with marketing teams and growth focused product teams to optimize user acquisition, retention, and monetization initiatives through data-driven insights, including but not limited to applying causal inference and experimentation to evaluate and enhance marketing campaign effectiveness.
• Partner with the broader data science teams on shaping and iterating the roadmap for data science products/platform.

You Have:

• Advanced or equivalent degree in a quantitative field: Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or related fields
• 7+ years of relevant industry experience in Data Science, preferably in Growth and with exposure to marketing science
• At least 2+ years experience managing a team
• Proficiency with SQL or relational databases and at least one programming language (e.g., R, Python)
• 10+ years of relevant work experience in marketing analytics or user growth
• 3 + years experience managing Data Science teams

• Passionate about data. You have the curiosity to continuously learn new techniques and tools to extract value from data.
• A leader that is invested in the success of others and has impact through mentorship and engagement with the community.
• A capable statistician. You understand the value of characterizing data by its distribution. Covariance, Bias, and Conditional Probability are concepts that you rely on every day.
• An expert transforming data with SQL and a scripting language such as Python or R. You're experienced in automating efforts and crunching massive volumes of data using big data frameworks such as Spark, Hadoop or Flink.
• Experienced in experimentation and developing models to draw insights from data. You use experimentation, causal inference, regression techniques, data mining, and statistical techniques to create scalable solutions to solve difficult business problems. You understand when to apply the appropriate methodology to maximize impact. For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.Annual Salary Range$310,270—$359,170 USD

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
