Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a highly motivated and hands-on Refining Technician to join our dynamic team operating solvent extraction and/or metal production cells in a fast-paced refinery setting. You will be responsible for the critical task of ensuring smooth and efficient operation of these cells, playing a vital role in recovering precious rare earth elements for clean energy technologies, electric vehicles, and advanced electronics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently run assigned cells, adhering to operational procedures and process parameters. This includes adjusting flow rates, controlling temperatures, and ensuring optimal conditions.
  • Continuously monitor cell performance through instrumentation and data analysis. Identify trends, potential issues, and implement corrective actions under the guidance of senior technicians or engineers.
  • Diagnose and address operational problems within your assigned cells, following established protocols and safety procedures. Escalate complex issues to the team for collaborative resolution.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks for assigned cells, ensuring equipment integrity and optimal performance. This includes cleaning, filter changes, and minor repairs.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and environmental regulations within the refinery. Report any safety concerns or compliance deviations immediately.
  • Record operational data, maintenance activities, and process adjustments meticulously in designated logs and reports.
  • Actively participate in team discussions and initiatives to optimize cell performance, increase efficiency, and improve overall extraction processes.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in metallurgical equipment maintenance or related fields is a plus.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in building, maintaining, and repairing metallurgical equipment in a process manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and components, up to 50 lbs, for extended periods of time.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in an industrial setting, including experience with hot work, forklift operation, respiratory protection, and hazard communications.
  • Proven ability to operate and maintain chemical processing equipment
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting process flow diagrams and technical manuals
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to safety and quality standards
  • Passion for clean energy and sustainable resource extraction
