Founding Team Senior Software Engineer Manager for a Social Travel Platform targeting Digital Nomads

Bubbl is looking for an exceptional product design oriented senior full stack engineer to be a key part of our Founding Team to lead our technology strategy, (including when and where to use AI), and lead and build the development of our social travel platform in mobile-first and web iterations. This role will specifically be in charge of ensuring a timely launch of our almost fully built Alpha product and leading our beta product development over the summer, in time for Winter 2025.

Apart from all of the technical capabilities and experience listed below, you will need to demonstrably embody the core values of Bubbl (see below). You will also be the persona for being a Bubbl customer and Host. Every Bubbl team member will live our brand, and relish in Hosting their own Bubbls from time to time. You will likely already be living as a digital nomad, as a big plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership and Development
Lead the design and implementation of scalable software solutions tailored for marketplaces in travel, real estate, or crowdfunding.
Develop robust, high-quality code across the full technology stack.
Ensure software scalability and reliability as the startup grows.

Product Strategy
Collaborate closely with co-founders to define product vision and roadmap based on market research and user feedback.
Prioritize features and tasks, balancing short-term and long-term goals.

Architecture Design
Design a flexible and scalable architecture that supports a rapidly growing user base and integrates with various third-party services and APIs, especially in the travel or real estate domains.

Team Building and Leadership
Managing globally distributed teams. Hiring and mentoring new team members.
Establish a culture of high performance, innovation, and continuous learning.

Stakeholder Engagement
Communicate technical challenges and progress to non-technical co-founders and stakeholders.
Engage with customers to gather insights that inform product enhancements.

Requirements:
Proven experience in building and scaling successful B2C marketplace or social platforms, within the travel, real estate, or crowdfunding sectors.
Strong expertise in modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g.React, Python, Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Flutter etc.
Strong experience in managing distributed teams including outsourced development teams.
Strong experience with cloud services, database management, and DevOps tools.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
This role demands a blend of technical proficiency, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to drive the development of innovative marketplace solutions.
You must be prepared to run your own Bubbls from time to time.
