About Us
Do you want to work on the most pressing problem of our generation? Do you have experience as a founder or entrepreneur and know what it’s like to roll up your sleeves and execute well, while building a company around you for the long term? If you truly know what it feels like to fly the plane while trying to build it, we want to hear from you. We’re looking for the best software engineers in the world to join a growing series A startup. At CarbonChain we see the climate crisis as a transformative opportunity for the global economy, and a rewarding career opportunity for those excited to take on the challenge in a rapidly growing market.
Decarbonizing the economy requires a granular, real-time view of where emissions come from and how they might be reduced. We’ve built software to automate the carbon footprinting of supply chains so their emissions can be measured and managed down. Banks, traders, and manufacturers use our product to tame the complexity of international supply networks, identify the most carbon-intensive parts, and find greener alternatives. Having developed technology which is significantly ahead of competitive solutions, we are now investing heavily in market adoption.
To join CarbonChain, you’ll need a proven career path in software engineering in designing, building and delivering great user interfaces that delight customers. Our company is made up of passionate people with expertise ranging from oil refining to deep learning. Between us we’ve run Amazon’s European supply chain, built JustEat’s corporate meal delivery platform, and monitored industrial emissions with satellites in all corners of the globe. We’ve got MBAs and PhDs but we know that there’s a lot we don’t know, and we’re hoping you can help fill that gap.
About the Role
The Tech teams at CarbonChain build and operate the systems that help sustainability leaders decarbonise their industries. We enable the union of carbon data with our customer’s data to create actionable insights for carbon emissions and track where they are generated in our customer’s supply chains. This is an exciting mix of fullstack software engineering, backend systems engineering, data engineering and data science.
We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to speak the language of decarbonisation for our customers, via product. You’ll join our team and lead the technical implementation of our product interface as we build our best in class carbon accounting platform. The successful candidate will be a software engineer who has previously operated as a hands-on engineer focused on building enterprise applications in collaboration with design, product and data scientist colleagues.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for our frontend frameworks, component library and the delivery of the frontend aspects of our key projects. This role includes partnering with Product, Design, Data and our Carbon teams to build screens that delight our customers, and helping engineers across the organization solve problems, and delivering excellent UIs for our customers. We’ve seen first hand at CarbonChain that measurement equals management in the challenge to reduce global emissions. If you’re great at what you do, we want to hear from you.
