Care.com is seeking a highly motivated Director of Product to join our team. You will be leading the Jobs and Messaging products, which includes job posting, applying for jobs, member ecosystem direct messaging and the underlying platform to support these functions. The ideal candidate will be a data focused Product leader who has experience taking a product from zero to one, has a consumer experience-centric mindset and can drive growth through both incremental improvements, product turnarounds as well as strategic big bets. Experience from a Marketplace, Subscription, and/or Transaction business is highly preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the cross-functional teams of PMs, designers, data scientists and engineering during the entire lifecycle of product development.
  • Evolve the jobs and messaging ecosystem to better serve member segments to drive loyalty and retention
  • Define the strategy for the underlying platform to be responsive to the evolving membership and entitlements model.
  • Optimize the jobs conversion path from posting to application to job completion.
  • Accountable for a high impact area of the product, including defining the strategy, setting the OKRs and defining near and long term roadmaps and the product strategy.
  • Develop product roadmap, build alignment across the company and be able to interface with the C-level Executive team
  • Implement best in class product development and management practices
  • Prioritize resources and projects to maximize our growth and create high-quality products
  • Coordinating deliverables and timelines with the extended team (including remote employees). This includes making appropriate trade-offs and user acceptance testing the final deliverable.

Required Skills

  • 10-12+ years of product experience with at least 5 years of B2C experience.
  • 6+ years of experience managing Product Managers.
  • Experience with multi-sided marketplace experimentation.
  • Experience with search and matching algorithms, and directing data science
  • Familiar with subscription and transaction business models.
  • Ability to work tactically in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment.
  • Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment, while building extensible and scalable solutions
  • Strong analytical, data, and troubleshooting skills - everything from synthesizing data to diving into individual transaction records.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Creative problem solver. Able to identify real obstacles and viable solutions
  • Outcome-oriented. Not reactionary, articulates the desired outcome and works collaboratively to create a path to achieve it
  • Experience with consumer internet products or marketplaces
  • Experience with developing product requirements and user interfaces for both mobile and desktop
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams, solve complex problems, and produce high-quality results.

Salary Range: $180,000 - $210,000 The base salary range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Care.com's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and short- and long-term incentives. In addition, Care.com provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life, and disability insurance, a generous 401K employer matching program, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
