About Us:
Chapter One is a startup on a mission to revolutionize the home services industry. Founded by a small team of entrepreneurs passionate about empowering skilled professionals to start their own businesses, we provide the resources and support necessary for service providers—like plumbers, electricians, and HVAC specialists—to turn their expertise into successful enterprises. As we're in the early stages of our journey, joining us means you'll be at the heart of our development, helping shape the future of home services.
These are a couple of the businesses we've kicked off, e.g.: www.goodfellaspm.com, www.rsjheatingandair.com
Role Overview:
We're looking for a Full Stack Software Engineering Intern to join our tight-knit team from April to July. In this role, you'll have the unique opportunity to contribute to both the front-end and back-end development of our platform. This is an ideal position for someone eager to make a tangible impact in a startup environment, where your work directly supports our growth and the success of our partners.
Responsibilities:
- Work alongside our small team to design, build, and refine new features for our platform.
- Engage in full-stack development tasks, contributing to both client-side and server-side code.
- Help integrate third-party APIs and services to expand our platform's capabilities.
- Participate in the entire product lifecycle, from concept through deployment, ensuring a high-quality user experience.
- Support the maintenance and improvement of existing features, based on user feedback and performance data.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar field.
- Experience with front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React) and back-end technologies (e.g., Node.js, Ruby on Rails, Python/Django).
- Basic understanding of database systems (e.g., PosgreSQL, MongoDB) and web servers (e.g., Apache, Nginx).
- A strong desire to learn, adapt, and contribute in a fast-paced, startup environment.
- Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a small team.
Why Join Us?
- Play a key role in a startup aiming to change the landscape of the home services industry.
- Experience the rapid growth phase of a startup, with opportunities to contribute across various aspects of the business.
- Work closely with the founders, gaining mentorship and insights into building and scaling a startup.
- Be part of a flexible and dynamic work environment where your contributions are valued and recognized.
Compensation:
This is a part-time internship running until school starts in August, offering a total stipend of $500. Interns are expected to work 16 hours per week, gaining valuable experience and professional growth opportunities in a supportive team environment.
Application Process:
Interested? Please send us your resume and a brief cover letter explaining why you're interested in working with us and how your skills and experience could benefit Chapter One. We look forward to hearing from you!
