The Product Manager is an integral member of the Product Management team that will become a subject matter expert on the software. This role will provide the business and software requirements in the form of user stories that will be used throughout the Product Development Life Cycle.
Deliverables and Performance Measures:
Serve as the Product Owner of a Scrum Team to deliver new features and functionality in a specific area of the platform, as well as maintenance and tech debt.
Establish and maintain business and user requirements in the form of User Stories, use cases, and mock-ups with appropriate level of detail for the software development teams to execute on the project.
Partner with the architects, development and quality engineering to ensure all requirements are covered and quality is achieved.
Coordinate product specific communications to stakeholders and clients, including release documentation, major milestones, and product deliveries.
Drive the product- and business-planning processes for cross-functional teams.
Work with Director of Product to analyze customer needs, current market trends, and potential partnerships from an ROI and build-vs.-buy perspective.
Assess current competitor offerings and seek opportunities for differentiation.
Develop, implement, and maintain production timelines across multiple departments.
Work with Director of Product to appraise new product ideas and strategize appropriate go-to-market plans.
What will make you successful:
Minimum of 3 years in a product management roles, including story writing and experience as a software Subject Matter Expert.
Experience in the life insurance industry, either directly through sales/marketing support, the distribution channel, or through a vendor position.
Intermediate knowledge of Life and Annuity products and concepts.
Leadership or mentor experience in executing all phases of the software development lifecycle including requirements/stories, sprint management, testing, documentation, and delivery.
Prior Agile experience writing stories is preferred.
