This role

Truckbase is looking for a skilled and versatile backend-focused Senior Software Engineer committed to driving innovation and excellence in software development. The role calls for a proactive individual who will oversee the software development lifecycle and contribute significantly to diverse technical projects. In this position, the successful candidate will be central to designing and implementing software solutions that not only meet but surpass customer and product requirement expectations, particularly focusing on robust features and system scalability.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement software systems, applications, and features that meet both business and technical requirements.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code. Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Tackle complex technical problems, contribute to troubleshooting and debugging efforts, and offer effective solutions.
• Ensure systems and applications are scalable and optimized for performance. Focus on performance improvements and optimizations in both application logic and data processing.
• Develop a deep understanding of database design and management. Implement efficient data structures and algorithms for optimal data processing and storage. Troubleshoot and resolve server and database issues effectively.
• Provide support for operational issues, including occasional on-call duties for critical system issues.
• Take complete ownership of projects from conception to deployment, ensuring that all deadlines are met and objectives are achieved.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including product management, to ensure alignment with company goals and user needs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production level experience building and maintaining high performance, scalable backend systems
• Proven track record in designing and implementing RESTful APIs using Node.js
  
• Extensive experience in developing robust backend solutions with TypeScript, emphasizing type safety and scalable code architecture.
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and orchestration.
• Experience working in Agile development environments, with an ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and priorities.
• Proven ability and excitement for collaborating with the product team to analyze requirements, identify issues, and proactively work towards resolution. In-depth understanding of database technologies (both SQL and NoSQL), including design, optimization, and integration with Node.js applications.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and orally
