About the Role
As a Category Manager for MOOTS, you'll have the responsibility of nurturing a culture of innovation and differentiation, becoming the source for delightfully distinctive eats and treats. Our Category Managers identify the latest, greatest edible discoveries, food fads, mouthwatering culinary trends, and lifestyle essentials embracing the MOOTS Value “Integrity in everything Food”. We seek someone with a true passion for consumer products, staying on top of what’s happening in the epicurean world. The successful candidate will have cheerful curiosity, outstanding communication skills, and will relish our dynamic environment and the array of business and interpersonal skills required. We look for someone who finds food gloriously exciting and wants to work with small vendors and startups to uncover new delicacies.
Key Functions:
- Finding the most appropriate supplier companies and persuading them for the best purchasing conditions by using the purchasing power of the company. Organize (negotiate) delivery of the products ordered by Regional Companies within the agreed periods of time and in the predetermined quality.
- Acting in accordance with the Purchasing Policy General Principles and procedures.
- Collaborate with all departments on every issue, for the company to get better results and success.
- Maintain and update the catalog of products and communicate changes to local and regional units.
Skills and Tools:
- Excellent organization, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to work within a team to ensure production standards, reports, and outputs are of a consistently high standard and submitted on time.
- Ability to quickly learn and understand processes and technologies.
- A background in innovation including experience of lean start-up, design thinking, prototyping and have solid commercial awareness.
- Ability to keep pulse on and evaluate trends and translate into actionable recommendations.
- Proven track record in product analysis, testing and development.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills. Strategic thinking.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
