About the job
Diamond Foundry Inc. is solving the thermal limitation at the foundation of today's most exciting tech industries -- AI & cloud compute, electric-car power electronics, and 5G/6G wireless. We have managed to produce the world's first single-crystal diamond wafers and are now on a mission to put a diamond behind every chip. We are the rare unicorn that has grown fast and profitably. We received $515m in funding and are executing a multi-$B expansion plan for one of the greenest forms of tech manufacturing: converting greenhouse gas into diamond wafers using zero-emission energy.
Diamond Foundry Inc. is the global leader in single-crystal diamond technology. We produce single-crystal diamond (SCD) wafers by crystallizing greenhouse gas into diamonds using proprietary plasma reactors powered by zero-emission energy. Founded in 2012 in San Francisco, California by Stanford/M.I.T./Princeton engineers, Diamond Foundry Inc. received $315MM in funding and has had a multi-year track record of profitable fast growth.
Diamond Foundry is seeking an individual with strong problem-solving skills who will apply physics and engineering principles in the design of new equipment used for diamond growth. A successful candidate likely has prior experience with semiconductor equipment design or experience with plasma systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design new components and systems used for diamond growth equipment.
- Architect and perform experiments to understand hardware impacts on plasma and diamond growth
Requirements:
- 5 + years of industry experience with a BS in engineering or applied physics.
- Experience with vacuum equipment, use, and design.
- Comfortable with hands-on work in a lab environment.
- Experience designing components and assemblies in CAD (Solidworks), and with various fabrication methods and equipment.
- Finite element analysis (e.g. with COMSOL) a plus.
