Senior Electrical Engineer, Hardware

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop the electrical architecture for a small lightweight AR/VR device, focusing on portability and power efficiency
• Develop and manage power distribution, battery management, and thermal management systems
• Collaborate with display and camera engineers to ensure efficient integration and optimization
• Optimize energy consumption and extend battery life through innovative power solutions
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and components to continually enhance device performance and efficiency

Knowledge and Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience designing electrical hardware and/or embedded systems (or show excellent mastery of skills)
• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering from an accredited university
• Mix of experience with analog, DSP, high-speed, and power architectures.
• Experience with wearables, IoT devices or head-worn devices is a huge plus.
• System architecture development
• Experience managing efforts of in-house hardware design resources and outside hardware design firms, ODMs, and JDMs
• PCB schematic and layout design
• Familiarity with Altium, Cadence, and/or Xpedition preferred
• Experience creating and managing complete release packages for designs (schematics, BOM, etc.)
• A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with mechanical and electro-mechanical systems
• Comfortable presenting work to small and large groups (clients, co-workers, vendors)
