About the job

We are looking for an exceptionally talented & experienced Creative Art Director to lead our design team, build a really cool design portfolio for our client roster and build L&H as a prominent young design agency. In this role, you will have overall creative control, direction, and management responsibilities, overseeing a team of brands and reporting teams. Your strategic mindset and ability to translate briefs into impactful creative strategies & visual systems will be crucial skill. As a Creative Art Director, you will also be responsible for managing the full delivery of projects, providing design guidance, and ensuring high-quality execution across both - branding & communication design. You will work closely with both the marketing and design teams to ensure seamless collaboration. Additionally, you will be expected to stay up-to-date with industry trends and develop insights to spearhead creative strategies for our clients. This role requires strong planning and organizational skills, as well as the ability to manage client relationships and meetings effectively.

KRAs:
1. Principal design lead

  • Build L&H's design voice with exceptional design & visual systems across client roster
  • Initiate in-house projects that create visibility among industry peers in design doing cool culture-defining work.
  • Be the point of brief interactions with clients, presentations
  • Plan full end-to-end delivery of projects - branding, video or visual communication - develop timelines, process and plan for every micro-design deliverable

2. Design Team Management

  • Manage a team of designers, writers & account managers on large scale branding/ communication projects - ensuring timely delivery of high-quality creatives.
  • Translate briefs into impactful creative strategies that solve business problems and create buzz across across channels, including social media, video, digital films, branding, and new brand launches.
  • Oversee the full delivery of campaigns, from briefing designers, evaluating design work, giving guidance, managing client feedback, photo shoots, campaign shoots, and on-set direction.
  • Break down top-level campaign ideas into detailed design deliverables, such as branding identity scopes, campaign looks, unit designs, and templates.
  • Provide team guidance, plan workflow, and give creative feedback to nurture and develop team members' creative and strategic thinking.
  • Develop and implement project checklists and SOPs to ensure error-free and timely deliveries, considering timelines and interdependencies between teams and clients.

3. Brand Strategic Management

  • Drive account KPIs, through compelling design & visual systems
  • Stay on top of new trends, industry news, brand news and global design trends to develop insights and spearhead creative strategies for clients.
  • Be able to evaluate briefs with a strategic mindset wrt competition brands, consumer perceptions, category design codes and more.
  • Embrace an open-minded, flexible, and intuitive approach to cracking new content formats, exploring new ways of creative operations, and redefining the role of a creative professional.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Prior experience of 4-5 years working with a top-notch design firm, agency, or design publication, with expertise in both branding and content design.
  • Keen reader of prominent marketing, design, and brand publications globally, staying on-trend with industry developments.
  • Familiarity with global trends across social media, memes, reels, movies, design movements, art news, gaming, and Web3 trends.
  • Strong client relationship management skills, including interaction and meeting management.
  • Excellent planning and daily work management skills, with exceptional organizational abilities.

Success Evaluation:

  • Development of high-decibel campaigns that build account share of voice (SOV) and increase brand campaign visibility to the target audience and industry peers.
  • Creation of original, enviable, and high-impact design that resonates with clients, audience, and industry peers.
  • Long-term retention and growth of team members through effective team development.
