ABOUT THE ROLE

As Sense continues to grow our presence with electric utilities, we are seeking an experienced Account Manager to own multiple large utility client accounts as we launch Sense on meters. You will be responsible for account planning and strategy, utility client relationship development and management, and delivery against contract and business outcomes. As part of Sense’ Energy Services organization, you will coordinate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Customer Support, and Operations, and Sales to launch and deliver Sense software services.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Be the expert in your account’s strategy, business, market, and goals.
  • In partnership with your team and leadership, define and deliver on account strategy and plan.
  • Accountable for delivering against contract and business outcomes and managing internal and external tracking and progress against contract metrics.
  • Lead customers toward realizing business value through Sense’s services.
  • Manage client expectations and scope for contracts.
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key stakeholders at existing clients.
  • Participate in cross-functional teamwork across multiple groups to deliver against our contractual commitments and effectively manage our clients.
  • Acquire product knowledge and expertise for the solutions for your clients.
  • Maintain an understanding of the regulatory environment and the opportunity and risk it creates.
  • Help to develop and improve our internal processes for utility account management and build our client success organization.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate has proven experience in Account Management or Customer Success, preferably at an enterprise software company.
  • Track record of success delivering complex, cross-functional technology projects with large enterprise customers.
  • Understanding of the investor owned utility business landscape and experience with advanced metering and/or utility energy services is preferred.
  • This position is open to candidates in any US location, but may require schedule alignment with eastern time. Monthly travel may be required.
