We’re seeking an enthusiastic Audience Strategist to join our rapidly growing Audience team to strategize, execute and analyze digital marketing campaigns and tactics to grow the audience and revenue of community news outlets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategize, execute and project manage digital marketing campaigns to drive revenue for community news outlets across channels that include email, Facebook ads, organic social, on-site ads, and landing pages.
- Contribute to quarterly growth strategies and coaching for publishers to help guide them through a roadmap that delivers audience and revenue growth
- Write compelling copy and craft content for all digital campaign assets
- Execute email marketing campaigns that nurture, engage and convert audiences for publishers
- Analyze campaign performance data and identify testing opportunities to optimize the marketing funnel end-to-end
- Contribute to and interpret audience surveys for publishers to help them best serve their readers
- Collaborate closely with the Audience Strategy Manager and the rest of the Audience team
- Contribute to client communications to ensure marketing needs are being addressed in a timely fashion
- Contribute to the development of replicable digital toolkits and best practices that can scale and drive growth across multiple publishers
Education & Experience:
3-5 years working in digital marketing, audience strategy or relevant industry
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong, fast copywriter who understands how to write a compelling headline and story
- Experience in executing digital marketing campaigns across email, social media and digital ads that have driven proven results
- Experience leading email marketing campaigns including segmentation, email journeys and automations
- Solid understanding of the marketing funnel and the ability to identify opportunities for conversion optimization
- Solid understanding of digital analytics and how to interpret campaign data
- Oral and written communication skills
- Technical competency with our marketing stack which includes Wordpress, Google Sheets, Google Analytics, Facebook Ads Manager and Mailchimp
- Ability to think creatively and strategically about audience and revenue growth
- Self-starter capable of working in ambiguity and problem-solving through roadblocks
Bonus points:
- Agency experience working with multiple clients is a strong asset
- Experience or interest in journalism is a strong asset
- Technical experience in setting up end-to-end campaign tracking via Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Facebook Pixel is a strong asset but not required
- This is a fully remote role based in Canada or the United States.
