About the job:
The Technical Partner role is a critical part of our management team, and a unique opportunity to join a solid team with a great track record who is looking to build world changing companies at a global scale. The role will be instrumental in the success of the 30-60 technology companies Antler will be part of building each year, by providing guidance and coaching to the exceptionally talented people that joins Antler to become founders. There are three components to the Technical Partner’s role:
- Support co-founding teams in developing disruptive products
- Ensure founders joining Antler are top quality through evaluation of applicants to the program
- Develop and own Antler’s internal tech stack, and lead the development team
Support co-founding teams: the Technical Partner will will bring in the best tech practices and strategies to Antler’s portfolio companies, and provide expert technological advice and solutions (coding, architecture, scaling etc.).
Evaluate applicants: Part of the role would involve close work with recruiting team to strategise and help in interviewing and selecting the best tech founders and later mentor and advise them to build amazing companies.
Develop and own Antler’s tech stack: develop and maintain a reliable technology stack for Antler, enabling efficient collaboration across domains and geographies, and an unrivaled experience for the founders building companies with Antler. This includes hiring and managing the tech team required
Responsibilities:
Support co-founding teams:
- Provide hands-on support to the 15-25 co-founding teams in each cohort on developing cutting-edge tech products as part of building their companies
- Set the best practices and strategy for technical operations (coding, architecture, scaling, etc.)
- Support co-founding teams in outsourcing development when required
- Provide structure to development activities by following proper SCRUM / Agile methodologies
Evaluate applicants:
- Conduct interviews of tech- and product- focused founder applicants
- Develop and perform practical evaluations
- Advise on methodology and sources for attracting the top global technology talent
Develop and own Antler’s tech stack:
- Work with the management team to help plan and execute the technical vision of the company, ensuring technical operations set up the best possible way and aligned to the company’s business strategy
- Hire and manage the tech resources
- Manage and lead project roadmaps, tasks & deadlines effectively
- Create network safeguards to ensure no data breaches
- Continuously evaluate technical efficiency and make changes as necessary
- Maintain high quality and ensure all products meet company standards
- Identify and keep up with the latest technological trends and implement changes to existing technology in all departments
- Manage IT and Engineering budgets to ensure no unnecessary expenditures
- Develop, test, release, support and maintain activities of internal / external web applications using [Go, Node.js, Express, HTML, CSS & jQuery, AngularJS/2]
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- Proven experience in leading and managing a team of high performing engineers
- Experience in managing technical projects efficiently while adhering to tight deadlines
- Experience in mentoring technical teams
- Expertise with cloud computing architecture (e.g. AWS), and building highly scalable, reliable, and available systems
- Experience with hardware, electrical engineering, and IoT is a plus
- Blockchain and AI application development experience is a big plus
