About the role
We are looking for a software engineer with expertise in perception for autonomous vehicles or robotics. Your contributions will focus on building out key capabilities of perception modules within an autonomous vehicle stack. You will also drive the design and development of computer vision and machine learning techniques to enable self-driving vehicles to navigate.

At Applied Intuition, you will:
- Prototype, evaluate, refine, and deploy capabilities for real-time perception systems
- Collaborate tightly with prediction and planning engineers on cross-team initiatives
- Deploy your perception modules to production hardware and test in the field
- Collaborate with customers’ engineers and manage customer relationships
We're looking for someone who has:
- Experience building software components or (sub) systems that address real-world perception challenges
- Expertise in subdomains such as modeling, input pipelines, evaluation, deployment, and model optimization
- Fluency in C++ and/or Python
Nice to have:
- A Master’s degree or PhD in computer science, physics, robotics, or related fields
- 2+ years of experience in the autonomous vehicle industry.
- Peer-reviewed research at machine learning conferences like NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML, ICLR, ICCV, ECCV, IROS, or ICRA.
Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. Base salary is a single component of the total compensation package, which may also include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance coverage, 401k retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Note that benefits are subject to change and may vary based on jurisdiction of employment.
Applied Intuition pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum intended target base salary for new hire salaries for the position. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, interview performance, and the level and scope of the position.
