We are seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our high-visibility Policy Center Team. In this mission-critical role, you will develop our Policy Center platform while helping us build a work culture that fosters continuous learning and growth.

What you'll do:

• Work with our product team to design features for enhancing our customers’ data governance efforts.
• Collaborate with our design team to provide the highest quality user experience.
• Design and build internal and externally facing API’s that are fast and flexible.
• Build and implement functional and end to end tests incorporating UI, API, and database elements.
• Mentor junior engineers.
• Grow and enhance Alation’s engineering culture and policies.

You should have:

• CS degree and 5+ years of experience working as a software engineer.
• 3+ years of experience designing, developing, and shipping software products and services with a distributed backend.
• A good understanding of architectural conventions such as RESTful API design, concepts of algorithmic complexity.
• Interest in working on complex Full-Stack architectures and have worked with Python - Django.
• An understanding of how to translate business requirements and “user needs” into code.
• Experience working with Relational Databases - Postgres is a plus!
• Experience with React or any equivalent front-end framework is a plus.
