Who You Are
We are looking for motivated Production Associates to join our state-of-the-art freeze drying facility in Allentown, PA! In this role, you will be directly responsible for the safe, efficient production of high-quality, fresh, human-grade pet food. Production Associates will become highly functional in multiple areas of the plant, and will become system experts in an assigned area of focus. This job requires strong communication, analytical, interpersonal, and team building skills to support site objectives
Responsibilities
- Prioritize individual safety, product quality, and food safety and report any behavior or occurrence that may impact these
- Support operation of freeze dryers, including, filling, loading, and unloading trays and sanitizing equipment
- Operate basic plant equipment (i.e. dishwashers, boxers, taper and hand trucks) according to specifications
- Demonstrate high degree of ownership for product quality and food safety through accurate records of QC checks, production reports, inventory
- Assist maintenance team in equipment troubleshooting and performing total productive maintenance tasks
- Identify and document root causes, and take corrective actions to solve problems
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
Must Have
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic equipment troubleshooting experience
- Able to operate a computer and/or tablets and utilize the basic standard desktop systems (e.g., ERP, MES, Microsoft Excel)
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Nice to Have
- Working knowledge of Lean/TPM manufacturing principles
- Working knowledge of HACCP and GMPs
- Experience working with equipment HMIs
- Previous forklift experience
- 1+ years of experience in food production
Physical Requirements
- Physical Demands: lifting and lowering up to 50 pounds, reaching, standing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, working in high elevations (above 6 feet)
- Ability to work with allergens that might be present in food environment
- Ability to work in hot (70℉ to 90℉), cold (-20℉ to 40℉), noisy, dusty, and wet environmental working conditions
- Able to wear safety PPE (hard hat, body harness, face shield, steel-toed boots)
- Able to adhere to GMP requirements (hair/beard nets, uniforms, hygiene)
