Alation is looking for a Sr. India Payroll specialist to join our expanding payroll team within the Finance Department. This position is designed for a strong team contributor, driven, detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support our employee payroll needs in India. We are looking for a team player who is willing and ready to ensure our India payrolls are processed on a timely and accurate basis. The person selected will be overall responsible for the processing & administration of the entire payroll process and ensuring compliance and accuracy in Payroll activities of the India entity. We are seeking a person who is experienced in Statutory Compliance (PF, ESIC, PTAX, LWF, GRAUTITY, NPS, Superannuation, bonus) as well as year end processing. This is a fast-paced, dynamic role and you will take on interesting and challenging responsibilities as our organization continues to grow in India and other countries Globally. This role will also be a key part of the successful growth of the Finance department.

What you'll do:

• Responsible for managing administering the employee Payroll and ensuring compliance and accuracy in monthly Payroll activities.
• The role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate delivery of payroll.
• Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data into the payroll system, as well as retrieving data when necessary.
• Knowledge of using the ADP, Safegaurd or Cloudpay payroll software is a plus
• Reconciling payroll sub-ledger to the general ledger.
• Knowledge of basic accounting for preparation of Salary JV s.
• Good knowledge of Labor Laws, remitting payroll taxes, and various governmental reporting.
• Prepare and process monthly statutory payroll payments such as Provident Fund, Professional tax, NPS, LWF, Income Tax, etc.
• Prepare and submit all Labor compliance-related returns such as Provident Fund, Professional tax, NPS, LWF, Income Tax, etc.
• Generate Payroll reports as requested by management
• Handle employee taxation matters, Payroll tax deduction at source, TDS returns filing, TDS challan payments etc.
• Co-ordinate with labor law consultants, and various labor law-related government departments to carry out various compliance and resolve employee matters.
• Preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll statements.
• Knowledge in APAC payroll is a plus.

You should have:

• Degree/ Post Graduate degree in Accounting and Finance.
• Knowledge of payroll software is preferable.
• Payroll Specialist with 6-10 years of experience.
• Previous responsibility for End-to-End payroll processing
• Have a clear understanding of labor laws employee tax calculations
• Proficient in the English language (Both Verbal Written).
• Strong computer skills Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows, G-Suite
• Good communication skills (Written and verbal)
• Good interpersonal skills
• Able to build and maintain sound relationships with individuals at all levels
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to write in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions Adapt to a multi-cultural environment
