ROLE DESCRIPTION
OneOme is seeking an innovative and experienced leader to serve as Vice President of Information Technology (“VP of IT”). This is the highest IT leadership role for the enterprise. The VP of IT has accountability for the establishment and execution of the enterprise-wide IT strategy and ensures its alignment with the enterprise’s business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success. As a member of the enterprise executive leadership team, the VP of IT participates in and contributes to overall enterprise business strategy development, bringing a current knowledge and future vision of leveraging information and technology in business model design, business processes re-engineering, regulatory compliance, security and support for competitive advantage.
In addition, the VP of IT will provide leadership in developing industry-leading technology focused on cloud-based data and analytics platforms, customer implementations, artificial intelligence and machine learning platforms, data and analytics, population health management, and clinical decision support systems for pharmacogenomics.
This role will be reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will be responsible for clearly communicating the vision, strategy, goals and performance results of OneOme’s technology capabilities to senior leaders within the company. This is a hands-on role with light management of a few employees and vendors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Sets the mission and vision of the IT organization to foster business-oriented culture and mindset.
• Current initiatives include:
o Large-scale customer implementations including integration of the Company’s products into Health Systems’ Electronic Health Record systems including but not limited to Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, etc.
o Assessment and business case development for 3rd party data integration intermediaries such as Health Information Network/Exchange (HIN/HIE) vendors.
o Driving the technology and analytics innovation and strategy for the organization.
o Supporting Product leadership in conducting market and competitive research on emerging business models and new capabilities as it relates to technology, analytic capabilities, and clinical decision support systems as it relates to supporting IT infrastructure.
o Implementation of population health and cost of care analytics technologies to effectively support the ongoing operations of OneOme’s products and services.
o Development and implementation of data security assessment capabilities such as HITRUST, SOC2, GDPR, etc. to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer contractual provisions.
• Leads the development of the IT strategy and roadmap; ensures its integration with the enterprise’s strategic planning process, and the resulting business strategy and plans.
• Acts as a trusted advisor and builds and maintains relationships with fellow executive leadership team members, business unit leaders and the board to develop a clear understanding of business needs; ensures cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs and is able to respond with agility to changing business priorities. Uses influencing and negotiation skills to create synergies across the enterprise to enable cost-effective and innovative shared solutions in achievement of business goals.
• Collaborates with executive leadership and business partners to define and execute the digital business. Participates in and contributes to the assessment of external digital opportunities and threats, and internal technology capabilities required to achieve desired competitive positioning.
• Maintains currency on new technologies and platforms and provides direction on what emerging technologies to assimilate, integrate and introduce within the enterprise to ensure IT capabilities are able to respond to the needs of the enterprise’s digital business strategy. Provides strategic direction for the IT organization’s innovation efforts and facilitates the organization in role in experimenting with new solutions to take advantage of those opportunities in the fulfillment of the digital business strategy of the enterprise.
• Provides strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, operation and support of IT systems and programs that fulfill the needs of the business, including enterprise architecture management, enterprise applications management, security and risk management, and infrastructure and operations support management and server management.
• Develops and controls annual operating and capital expenditure budget for IT to ensure it is consistent with overall strategic objectives of the enterprise and is within plan.
• Directs the development of IT sourcing strategy and provides executive oversight for strategic vendor and partner relationship management.
• Works with HR and the IT leadership team to develop an IT “people strategy” that aligns with the business and IT strategy. Both teams work together to continually look for leading-edge and innovative solutions to the recruitment, development and retention of the IT workforce.
• Leads the establishment and execution of a workplace strategy that ensures employees have the tools and work environment to be more engaged, productive and effective.
• Works with the Marketing team to develop core positioning and messaging for technology and analytics products and services.
• Serves on enterprise planning and policymaking committees; drives the development of enterprise technology standards, governance processes and performance metrics to ensure IT delivers value to the enterprise.
• Directs Information Security planning and best practices including:
o Security operations – Evaluates the IT threat landscape, formulates cyber security policy and controls to reduce risk, oversees auditing and compliance initiatives.
o Disaster recovery – works across the organization to develop cyber resiliency so the organization can rapidly recover from hacking, security incidents, data breaches, or infringements.
o Security finance management – evaluate and assess if data security initiatives are worth the financial investments.
o Documentation – contributes to a variety of security policy domains associated with compliance, governance, risk management, incident management, HR management, and additional select domains.
o Compliance – works to ensure that the organization is adaptable to evolving compliance regulations.
o Program onboarding – weigh business opportunities against security risks that can potentially compromise the organization’s long-term financial rewards.
o HR management – establishing a system that reduces human error and its impact on the organizations security posture.
• Provides leadership, coaching and direction to the IT leadership team and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience required. Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in technology innovation, analytics strategy, development and execution roles.
• 5+ years of experience in healthcare technology and analytics leading customer implementations with client electronic health records / EHR (Epic and Cerner, strongly preferred).
• Demonstrated experience in IT infrastructure strategic planning, organizational design and development.
• Experience with cloud-based and AWS platforms
• Data security and privacy experience
• Server management experience
• Preferably proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading IT transformational initiatives in complex and dynamic environments by taking advantage of digital opportunities to innovate business models and enable the digitalization of the business

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to the IT workforce.
• Experience in healthcare product development and HIPAA/HITECH security regulations.
• Experience working in a start-up environment.

SCHEDULE AND HOURS
This position requires the ability to work Monday – Friday during core business hours with occasional evenings or weekends to support requirements for the position.
