Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer

As a Sr. QAE in the intelligent motion quality team, you will be working with cross-functional engineering teams to champion the quality of a wide variety of technical domains, from perception, mapping, to motion control, that are critical to the success of robotics product. As a quality leader in the team, you will have a significant impact in the quality and delivery speed of our software, our business, and most importantly our customers.

Key job responsibilities
As a Sr. QAE, you lead the design, implementation, and delivery of test solutions for critical and highly complex software. You firstly are a domain expert who understands the major components and cross-layer integration in-depth. Based upon the domain expertise, you own the test solutions for multiple complex and critical components that have direct influence on customer experience.

You will manage large scale test efforts, driving test strategy and deliverables for a large and complex system. You will lead the execution of test cases through both automated and manual tests. You will also own the quality reporting, defects diagnostic, features and software release sign-off.

You actively contribute to process improvement in the team and across teams. You have the opportunity to innovate and invent new test approaches or propose improvements to our existing processes and automation system to improve the team's speed and efficiency.

You will provide a system-level view on quality and provide guidance to junior team members to improve their technical and leadership skills and help them deliver solid quality and test solutions.

A day in the life
In this role, you will work closely with software developers, scientists, TPMs, and peer QA engineers across different teams to design, and deliver innovative test solutions for various Computer Vision/Robotics applications. You will have the unique opportunity to learn popular Computer Vision and Robotics technology altogether. You will not only have the opportunity to test robotics product manually but also to contribute to test automation solutions.

Basic qualifications
6+ year of experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer
Experience in manual testing
Experience in automation testing
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related technical fields
6+ years demonstrable experience in leading test strategy, test plan and test execution as QA lead
6+ years of test automation experience working with one of the following technologies: Python, Java, or C++, etc.
3+ years of Software QA experience in testing Android mobile devices or other consumer electronics
Preferred qualifications
Demonstrable experience working with engineering teams to deliver software requiring coordination between hardware, software teams
Excellent written, spoken, and listening communication skills
Experience in cross-team cooperation and coordination
Experience working in a UNIX/Linux environment or common cloud platform
Experience in robotics or other real-time system testing
Knowledge of Software Development Life-Cycle
Knowledge of industry standard or test automation tools and experience developing product test harnesses
Experience with open source tools and resources
Knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, popular algorithms etc.
Experience with Agile methodologies(Scrum/Kanban)
