THE ROLE
The Indirect Tax Manager will be the lead in the indirect tax area from planning to compliance to audit. The role will allow you to apply your knowledge and experience while building something special within the tax department. Due to the deadline driven nature of the tax function, the Indirect Tax Manager will work in a fast-paced, cross functional team environment to help the company meets its goals and objectives. The Indirect Tax Manager will report to the Tax Director.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspect of the indirect tax compliance process and ensure returns are filed timely and accurately
- Responsible for managing our tax engine Avalara – admin role, maintenance, testing new or modified change request, responding to questions from other functional teams, etc.
- Prepare monthly tax account reconciliation and journal entry for posting
- Research, document, and respond to tax notices to ensure timely resolution of the matter
- Manage indirect tax audits to ensure agreed upon timeline are met
- Research, develop guidance, and implement processes on indirect tax implication of new entity, businesses, and products
- Perform indirect tax due diligence and integration on acquisitions
- Collaborate with CX, business operation, engineering, and various functional teams to integrate sales tax requirements into their workflow
- Assist with ad hoc tax projects
- Continue to develop, refine and improve tax processes and controls
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar discipline
- 6+ years tax relevant experience in a public accounting firm and/or within the tax function of a multinational company
- Excellent tax technical research skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, and experience with Netsuite and Avalara is a plus
- Proficient with tax research software

- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to collaborate with teams from different functions and individual at various levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle competing deadlines without compromising the quality of the work
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and organize efficiently to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision
- Detail oriented while seeing the “big picture” of the task at hand
*The following represents FBN's reasonable estimate of the US national average base salary range of possible compensation for this role based on market data and placement of internal employees: $100,000 - $125,000. *
