The Head of Business Development will focus on driving new, unique, and deeper relationships with market collaborators that will accelerate achievement of the company’s strategic vision, improve its competitive differentiation and create value.This role will have oversight of and is accountable for the identification, on-boarding, enablement and long term success of all strategic partners.
As a senior member of the team, the Head of Business Development is expected to contribute to the strength, capabilities and reputation of Switcher. Taking ownership of pipeline generation and its progression through the sales cycle, your ability to partner with supporting functions, including Marketing, Product, and Customer Experience, will define your success.
Switcher is currently focused on bringing interactive live video to online shopping and is seeking a leader for our growing partnerships category, eCommerce. As the Head of Business Development, you will be leading strategic definition and go-to-market efforts within Switcher's existing eCommerce partners as well as launching new partners within the category.
This role will blend business development, relationship management, operational and technical acumen with strong cross-functional leadership skills. You will be an imaginative and energetic leader, who can build great partnerships with agencies, affiliates, influencers and e-Commerce Platforms. You will personally thrive on pushing forward and delivering on ambitious growth, working with a positive, motivated and fun team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and support Switcher’s existing and new partnerships via channel partners such as leading eCommerce companies
- Create/generate strategic opportunities to expand revenue both organically and opportunistically.
- Identify, establish and grow strong relationships, driving both long and short term company growth initiatives
- Drive rigorous sales development execution, ensuring target attainment, accurate forecasts and total transparency
- Develop and implement metrics to measure performance and progress towards strategic goals, ensuring that strategic actions are completed at various levels to achieve desired results
- Build and conduct executive presentations for internal and external customers
- Create a ‘lean start up’ mentality of constant experimentation and learning.
- Gain consensus from internal leadership teams to prioritize strategic growth markets and initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish project objectives and timeline
- Partner with finance /admin to structure commercial terms that support long-term strategic objectives
- Build relationships and act as a single point of contact across partners, product, marketing and customer experience teams
- Establish, monitor and report on key performance indicators across each Partner
- Identify emerging players and partnership opportunities across digital video, social technology, mobile, consumer electronics, ecommerce, etc.
Requirements
- 10+ years in a similar role, with experience in media, SaaS, and/or technology
- Strong business acumen and ability to think strategically, MBA is a plus
- A solid understanding of Switcher’s market: products, players, technologies, and ability to identify and collaborate with contacts in related markets.
- Background/understanding of advertising technologies (SaaS, e-Commerce) and/or digital marketing is definitely a plus - work experience in any of these industries required.
- You have successfully strategized and scaled go-to-market plans for new business.
- Proven ability to execute strategy and vision, set goals, plans, stay on track, measure results and continuously improve.
- Track record of leading and collaborating cross-functionally to gain buy-in, support, and assistance from key stakeholders and organizations.
- Strong leadership experience with the ability to lead change and take others with you.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong customer service, attention to detail and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated background structuring and negotiating complex commercial agreements
- Strong interpersonal and team building skills; ability to work with a diverse team and influence/drive change across functional and business boundaries
- Highly motivated, self-starter mentality with a proven ability to drive projects to closure
