Ok, so what is the Senior Software Engineer role all about?

This is an incredible opportunity to be one of the first engineers at detech.ai and shape our trajectory. You will experience what being at a scrappy startup is like. You will be empowered to identify opportunities that will help us grow and own it. What you'll be doing one day could be radically different the next. But here's what you'll be doing now:

  • Leveraging the latest technologies to make a product that simplifies Cloud Operations for tech companies around the globe!
  • Building a performant web application for Site Reliability Engineers to create Service Level Objectives to make sure their product is providing incredible user experiences.
  • Helping architect core parts of our infrastructure from the ground up in a reliable way.
  • Scoping, designing, implementing, and owning end-to-end feature sets.
  • Improving performance and address scalability limits
  • Defining the development standards, processes and guidelines at detech.ai
  • Teaching and learning from the other team members to make sure the team is growing together
  • Owning meaningful parts of our service, having an impact and growing with the company

What about the person we are looking for?

Must have
You have at least 5 years of experience contributing to a software engineering team.
Proven production experience with a major cloud service providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Strong written communication skills and can explain complex technical concepts to non-engineers.
You are familiar with data structures and algorithms, profiling and optimization
Passion and ability to work well in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, and ambiguous environment.
You value code simplicity, performance, and details
Nice to have
You are familiar with Agile methods.
You have strong experience in any backend language. (we are using Python)
You have experience on AWS or GCP
You have already worked in a startup.
Can empathize with the challenges of running software in production and are eager to solve them
