About the Role
Beacon is looking to hire a Content Marketing Intern. As the first marketing intern on our team, you’ll have an outsized impact on our success and a unique opportunity for ownership.
The content you write will be used to engage small business owners and buyers throughout the country with the goal of converting readers into sellers and buyers on our platform. As part of this, you’ll gain great exposure to marketing analytics and attribution and have a ton of impact when it comes to using content to scale a business.
This role reports to the Marketing Lead, but you’ll also have the chance to work closely with our SEO advisor to make sure content aligns with the customers we’re targeting. Given the early-stage start-up nature of the business, we’re looking for the right candidate who will be highly adaptable and hungry.
What You'll Do
- Write and edit marketing content including blog posts and email nurture campaigns
- Collaborate on drafting content and collateral for paid channels including direct mail and online digital ads
- Assist in writing video scripts and gathering testimonials from business sellers and buyers
- Engage with marketing, product and ops colleagues to craft evergreen content
What You'll Need
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree (preferably a junior or senior)
- Exposure to analytics and data-driven analysis, whether in the classroom (e.g. Economics, Statistics, Accounting) or during a previous work experience
- A strong ownership mindset and desire to become an expert in your domain
- Curiosity and capable of putting yourself in the shoes of the reader to empathize
- A few non-academic writing samples
Nice to Haves
- Working knowledge of analytical tools such as Google Analytics, Mixpanel
- Past experience with CRMs such as Salesforce, Pipedrive, Hubspot
- Online content presence, whether a personal blog, social media profile, or newsletter (e.g. personal SubStack or Medium)
- Past experience with creating websites or emails using HTML and CSS
