What You'll be doing:

• Be responsible for team output and hands on day-to-day writing and reviewing code. Provide instruction, guidance, and effective architectural best practices for innovation.
• Encourage active participation in all phases of the project lifecycle from ideation to post-deploy write ups. Work with product and project management to define and hone requirements, remove impediments, and provide visibility to stakeholders.
• Perform personnel management tasks for a team of developers, including performance reviews, mentoring, and planning each direct report's growth.
• Train new software engineers on our best practices, standards, culture, and policies. Lead cross team knowledge transfer sessions. Advocate for and contribute to the use of technical documentation.
• Demonstrate personal ownership of all team execution and delivery.
• The job includes other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.

Required:

• 8+ years of relevant engineering experience in fast paced environments.
• 4+ years of managing software engineering teams.
• Experience in a low-level language, scripting language, and high-level language (Python, Go, Java, Node.js, JavaScript, Typescript, or other).
• 4+ years’ experience managing agile development teams, Including distributed teams.
• Track record of meeting schedules on time; clearly defining deliverables and timetables, with demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities in complex environments and manage teams to successful project completion.

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• Demonstrated ability as an effective mentor and coach who understands how to successfully manage a team of talented developers.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to problem solve high-level software and application issues.
• Ability to project manage.
• Demonstrate strong organization skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Ability to self-motivate and meet deadlines.
• Highly Adaptive and flexible to change.

Education:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field.

Work Environment:

This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and standard office supplies. While working in the office, the setting is a standard office environment with low to moderate noise levels and temperature controlled.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Employee is required to sit at desk for majority of the workday with occasional standing and walking within office environment. The employee is required to use hands and fingers for writing and typing, handle or feel office tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Employee may occasionally crouch or kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20lbs.
