Your Role
You will be responsible for navigating Firefly’s patients through the complex world of referrals as they leave our virtual walls for specialist visits and diagnostic testing. You will become an expert in Firefly’s unique network of partners and will know the ins and outs of connecting patients by providing a seamless experience. You will understand the various systems and platforms that our partners use so that you can effectively refer, schedule, communicate, and close the loop. You will understand our insurance contracts and how to ensure our members have the prior approvals they need to receive care promptly.
You will:
- Become an expert in Firefly’s network of specialists, lab, radiology, and digital health partners in each geography
- Assist patients when a referral is needed; provide concierge-level white-glove service throughout the referral process
- Partner closely with FIrefly providers to ensure that they are kept up to date and engaged in the referral process as needed
- Ensure that all patients with referrals receive the care needed in the appropriate timeframe and that Firefly clinicians receive results and/or communications back from the partner
- Help to maintain a directory of Firefly’s network across geographies
Track performance of the referral process according to SLAs
Assist with:
- Medical records systems management
- Billing tasks
Additional project work to support growth and scalability
You’d be a good fit if have:
- 2+ years in the healthcare industry with knowledge and experience working medical referrals for patients
- Excellent communication skills - you will be working directly with patients on a daily basis
- Fantastic organization skills and are detail-oriented
- Flexibility to help in whatever ways are needed by being a team player
Our office is located in Watertown, Massachusetts, and while this role can be done largely remotely, there are several times a year when staff come together onsite for planning and team building. Accordingly, we do require staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID.
