The Director of Client FinOps (Director) uses detailed financial reporting and forecasting, sound business principles, and creativity to solve innovative growth companies’ most pressing challenges. The ideal candidate will design repeatable client engagements, leveraging his/her/their professional network to drive revenue for the firm, scaling firm resources with revenue all on the path to becoming a Managing Director. To be a culture-fit with MSC, the individual will demonstrate obvious creativity, energy, and enthusiasm and subscribe to a “clients before company before team before me.” An individual who is process-driven and has a record of overachieving academically or was an elite athlete will fit well within the MSC culture.
Responsibilities
- Leads development of internal team processes in FinOps.
- Oversees workflow and outcomes for internal and external financial and data analytics Associates, Analysts, and Interns.
- Identify and cultivate opportunities for additional revenue generation for MSC with new and existing clients.
- Able to design multi-scenario financial forecast models to add value for clients.
- Reviews financial statements and forecasts from corporate M&A targets.
- Manages the delivery of MSC’s commitments to clients by overseeing resources their organization needs to scale.
- Applies knowledge of investment firm accounting, specifically GP/LP investment vehicles in client engagements.
- Provides expertise to clients to determine the best accounting software platforms.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Business, Accounting or related field (Master’s preferred)
- CPA, in good standing and active membership in a professional organization such as American Institute of CPAs, Association of Practicing Certified Public Accountants, National Society of Accountants, or another professional group, preferred.
- 10+ years of experience developing client relationships using your domain expertise to translate complex client needs into implementable solutions
- Highly coachable and internally motivated to overachieve
- Expertise in one or more of these industries: FinTech, Healthcare, Venture Capital & Private Equity, & Wealth Management
- Able to design robust accounting processes aimed at risk mitigation, improved timely financial reporting, and client decision-making
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications
- Expert in accounting software for hypergrowth early-stage organizations
