Infrastructure Systems Engineer

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Engineer, document and maintain VMware environments on Cisco UCS & Dell Hardware
Provide SME Level 3 support to for Windows Servers from 2003 through 2019
Function as a Sr. Engineer on projects & implementations & migrations on AWS & Azure
Manage Storage Arrays, provisioning and maintaining SAN switches
Work on RCA and troubleshooting escalations with different groups and vendors
Perform system upgrades to servers, hosts, VMware, UCS, Dell servers etc
Perform troubleshooting as required, lead problem-solving efforts involving outside vendors
Identify, recommend and implement upgrades and enhancements required of systems to maintain functionality and optimal performance
Ensure security practices and industry best practices are followed with Active Directory integrations and security protocols
Provide statistics, metrics and analysis for management for capacity planning
Perform regular system maintenance, patching and updates
Identify hardware/software requirements for corporate projects and perform the build of these systems
Manage Disaster Recovery environment and ensure the resiliency of the environment by performing regular Disaster Recovery Drills
Perform root cause analysis, problem isolation and resolution
Ensure and assist with the proper deployment and management of solutions that support IT Infrastructure security including virus detection, malware detection, intrusion detection and prevention systems, firewalls, and other security solutions
Review system hardware/software design and architecture documentation and provide recommendation addressing infrastructure technical issues
Provide On-Call after hours support
Ability to effectively communicate with Senior & Executive leadership in a technical & non-technical capacity.
Be responsible for operating, tuning, and reviewing maintenance of all infrastructure components, security tools, devices, appliances and systems
Develop technical solutions and new performance tools to help increase efficiency and performance, and mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks
Write documentation, reports including assessment findings on projects, implementation and SOPs

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
Minimum of 7+ years of enterprise experience regarding the build and run of a virtualized and cloud environment utilizing High Availability, Replication and DR Capabilities
Minimum of 5+ years’ experience on VMWare, vCenter
Minimum of 3+ years’ experience on Cisco UCS, UCS Manager, UCS Central
Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in Storage Management, including SAN switches, replication and snapshots.
Minimum of 3+ experience on Dell Server, Storage Management
Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in multi-cloud platforms AWS & Azure, cloud formation, terraform, automation
Experience with Zerto & CommVault for disaster recovery, backups and business continuity.
Experience in document management (includes standard operating procedures) and version control management is required
Proficient written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills at all levels of the organization
Detail oriented and well organized
Effective organization and time management skills, with the ability to establish effective working relationships and contribute in a team environment

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS:

AWS Certified Solutions Associate or Architect
Microsoft Azure Administrator or Architect
VMware VCP (Data Center and/or Cloud)
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert
Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator or RHCE
