About the job
A bit about us
AgriWebb’s mission is to sustainably improve the world’s food supply by digitising the global animal protein production sector. We want to unlock environmentally conscious practices that put profits in the pockets of farmers and red-meat protein on the tables of billions of people.
AgriWebb is the market leader in livestock farm management software, known for our powerful yet simple UI across the industry. We are rapidly expanding into international markets, including the UK and the United States, and have customers in Brazil, South Africa, and New Zealand.
Our head office in Sydney, Australia brings together our Engineering, Sales, Success, and Marketing teams in a light-filled, spacious warehouse conversion that encourages collaboration and innovation. Centrally located in the heart of Surry Hills, we are on the hunt to grow our team with talented and enthusiastic team players.
Due to successful growth we have a unique opportunity for an experienced and passionate Senior Product Designer to join the AgriWebb team.
*The opportunity *
As the Senior Product Designer you are responsible for expanding our existing products as well as designing new major features and product lines from scratch. Working closely with our internal teams, the Senior Product Designer will help customers maximise value from the product through a deep understanding of their pain points and goals, and design product and onboarding experiences.
Your challenge will be to design something that is powerful, but simple to use, particularly given our unique customer base, who need a product that can stand up to extreme environmental challenges such as being used in the rain, whilst wearing gloves and handling one tonne animals!
*Responsibilities of the role include: *
- Collaborating with AgriWebb teams and customers, to deeply understand customer problems across different geographies and segments.
- Creation of design artifacts including wireframes, workflow diagrams, storyboards, design specifications, high fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes.
- Running design reviews internally and with customers, to validate designs and ensure team alignment.
- Contributing to and evangelising design guidelines, best practices and standards to ensure consistent user experience across products.
- Learning about and understanding livestock farming to ensure we’re solving the right problems in the right way. You might be new to farming, but you’ll get plenty of support internally for this.
To be successful in the role you will need:
- 5+ years of professional UI and UX design experience with a software product.
- A strong understanding of modern UI and UX practices for native and web apps on phone, desktop and tablet.
- Experience with design systems and using them to work with developers in an effective manner to produce a consistent user experience.
- Expertise in visual design, prototyping and designing simple experiences, with the ability to take high-level vision and product specs and translate them into actionable artifacts for design and development of the final product.
- The ability to use design tools such as Sketch, Invision, Figma or similar.
- Experience working with distributed teams and knowing how to keep them engaged in the design process and reviews.
- Experience working in a fast moving, agile environment.
- A passion and curiosity that searches out the latest trends and best practices in UI/UX architecture and agriculture.
- To be a strong communicator who excels at written, verbal and visual forms to align people to a vision.
- Ability to work with a number of stakeholders including Product Managers, Engineers and customers to develop world class products.
- To be a self starter and ability to work autonomously.
- Understanding of HTML/CSS and how they impact a design system is a plus.
- SaaS or a startup experience is a bonus.
Like many of us here at AgriWebb, you may not have worked in the world of agriculture before, but we guarantee you’ll fall in love with it and your ability to impact real problems for real people in one of the oldest, and least digitised, industries in the world.
