About the job

Miles is seeking a Director of Sales, Data, reporting directly to the founders at their Redwood City office.

This is a quota carrying role with an exceptional above industry average commission structure. You are responsible for driving revenue for our data and insights solution. Proven value of unprecedented level of data and insights (completely owned by Miles) should help you capitalize on demand from a variety of data customers. You’ll have a unique opportunity to monetize hundreds of billions of data points/insights and be responsible to scale our data and insights ecosystem.

Be the first sales person responsible to not only bring the first million dollars monetizing data but also have the opportunity to scale to hundreds of million dollars in a fast growing Series A startup.

Responsibilities:

  • Become an expert of Miles data and insights products/solutions
  • Generate new business opportunities, preferably from an existing rolodex of prior customers to fuel pipeline. Strategize with SDR and marketing team to build on existing pipelines
  • Have a disciplined and structured sales approach from prospecting to closing and evangelize that through other teams you work with
  • Project deal pipeline as accurately as possible through effective management of sales process
  • Meet/exceed revenue targets for each month/quarter
  • Work closely with our engineering and product team by helping with precise gathering of requirements from the customer and clearly communicate them internally
  • Learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of products, industry trends, and competition, especially in the mobility analytics industry

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college/university
  • 5+ years of experience with data and insights sales to institutional buyers including financials, city agencies and DOTs, transportation/mobility, data marketplaces etc.
  • Proven track record of closing deals independently and successfully achieving and surpassing quota goals
  • Proficiency with data specification standards as well as compliance related matter
  • Be a creative and strategic thinker to carve out solutions for customers that may not always be pre-defined.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
