We are currently hiring a:
Senior Hardware Systems Analyst - GPU
Overview:
Reporting to the Manager, Intellectual Property Technology Services, the Sr. Hardware Systems Analyst will participate in major projects and campaigns, and provide GPU hardware system architecture analysis, patent assessments and functional analysis, documentation and patent portfolio development. You will provide technical and Intellectual Property support to clients and be responsible for addressing customer inquiries and concerns. Your proven experience in the GPU design and architecture, along with your excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, will be important assets in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as an internal expert on GPU hardware system architecture for mobile, desktop and server platforms and conduct critical analysis of various Intellectual Property aspects based on reverse engineering results
Provide analysis based on solid understanding of system level architecture trade-offs (including H/W, memory systems and system S/W)
Design and conduct GPU system power and performance tests at various levels and for various platforms as dictated by the needs for finding Intellectual Property Evidence of Use (EoU) support
Perform technical review of patents, evaluate patent portfolios, and perform patent mapping exercises
Write customer-facing reports to explain analysis; act as a technical verifier for reports prepared by other team members
Contribute to the GPU system technology trend analysis, research, and documentation
Identify new technologies and GPU modules that merit analysis under the SoC architecture subscription channel
Support broader project teams in technology trend, GPU system analysis, research, and documentation
Follow company business policies and processes
Make recommendations and develop comprehensive engineering solutions based on technical analysis, reverse engineering capabilities and knowledge of intellectual property and our service offerings
Deliver findings in comprehensive reports and present and discuss results and recommendations with clients
Assist and support clients in patent litigation and licensing negotiations
Ensure and maintain confidentiality policies appropriate to the client
Qualifications:
BSEE or BSCS with a minimum of 7 years computer graphics experience focusing on most of the following:
GPU hardware system design hands-on experience
Experience and background in Computer Graphics and GPU hardware architecture including GPU Streaming and Multiprocessor Architecture
Understanding of newer GPU virtualization techniques
Familiar with high level performance modelling and analysis of graphics H/W features
Preferred Qualifications:
MS Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with minimum 5-7 years computer graphics experience
Strong and relevant experience and background in Computer Graphics and GPU H/W
Deep understanding of GPU concept and pipeline, in terms of Graphics processing and parallel computing
Good understanding of computational logic, encoder/decoder, cache and memory controllers architecture
Good understanding of GPU shader unit design, microprocessor design, and CPU/GPU coexistence and interoperability
Understanding of new merging workloads for GPGPU such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, AR/VR and High Performance Computing HPC;
Good knowledge of graphics and computer API’s (OpenGL, CUDA, OpenCL, DX, Vulcan);
Media & Display Standards: HEVC, VP9, AVC, HDR, DisplayPort, HDMI, etc.
