Sr DevOps Engineer (CI/CD)

Alation is looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to own Alation CI/CD platform.

You will focus on product stability, scalability and strong programming skills, have a deep understanding of cloud technologies, as well as excellent communication and planning skills.

We ship weekly, make hundreds of builds daily, launch 500 or more CI instances hourly.

A majority of your daily tasks will be
·creating new DevOps CI/CD infrastructure
·existing platform and pipeline enhancements and maintenance
·operational duties such as monitoring internal CI/CD infrastructure for reliability and performance.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop and maintain self-scaling CI/CD solutions for Alation products
• Collaborate with all of Alation Engineering teams to understand their build and testing requirements
• Maintain SCM across all of Alation org

Skills and Experience

• 6+ years of experience working in a Software Engineering role
• 4+ years of experience working in a CI/CD DevOps role
• Deep knowledge of scalable Jenkins infra
• 1+ year experience with jobDSL
• Strong knowledge of Linux, including troubleshooting skills
• Experience with macOS and Windows desktop CI/CD solutions
• Practical knowledge of maven, grunt, make, rpmbuild in context of packaging and CI
• Working experience with Artifactory and/or Nexus
• Hands-on automation experience with hosting solutions such as AWS, Azure and GCP.
• Ability to deploy, configure, maintain and automate for VMWare ESXi
• Comfortable with writing build scripts for Ruby, Python, Java, NodeJS, Groovy, Go, C++
• Proven track of applying Chef and Terraform in CI/CD
• Proven track of deploying highly available and manageable SCM and CI/CD infrastructure
• Bonus: passion for documentation

Additional Requirements:

• BTech/BE in Computer Science or Equivalent.
• Curious and Growth MindSet and always willing to learn new technologies.
• Can Do attitude and Ability to think outside of the box.
• Good Communication and Strong Interpersonal Skills.
