Java Developer

SAFE Health, Inc. is a digital healthcare platform operated in partnership with Mayo Clinic (www.safehealth.me). Our mission is to make healthcare more accessible and reduce the cost of care at scale. We are currently working on a revolutionary Connect Diagnostics platform that has the potential to transform how primary care is delivered.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of secure, resilient and scalable OpenAPI compliant microservices in line with overall application architecture of the platform
• Design of logical components or supporting data models to meet objectives of functional components
• Unit and integration testing of code to ensure code quality
• Development of technical specs or rapid prototypes to demonstrate technical feasibility
• Adherence to platform coding standards, naming conventions and documentation requirements to ensure consistent code quality across the platform
• Review and delivery of assigned development tasks on Jira
• Collaboration with Product Management team to understand functional requirements and express technical design considerations
• Collaboration with Development Leads to review code and create consistent development builds
• Collaboration with DevOps on software releases
• Wholistic understanding of the overall platform, service oriented architecture, asynchronous message queue transport, containerized deployment and CI/CD practices to develop effective software in context of the larger platform concepts
• Positive attitude to perform with quality and responsively on multi-functional and distributed delivery teams, interacting within the company or with clients

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experienced or otherwise proven expert level performer on strongly typed programming languages, ideally Java or C++
• 3+ years of hands-on experience developing microservices based technologies
• 3+ years of experience working with relational and NoSQL database architectures, in particular MongoDB
• 3+ years of experience developing in message queueing (publish and subscribe) architectures
• 3+ years of experience development in service oriented, RESTful API technologies
• 3+ years of experience working on agile development projects
• Proven experience working with containers and CI/CD technologies
• Proven experience working in distributed development teams
• Excellent analytical skills to think through requirements and ensure designs makes sense both in the short and the longer-term
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Highly versed in common development, collaboration and design tools, including: Jira, Confluence, LucidCharts and Slack
