Senior Site Reliability/DevOps Engineer

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SRE to oversee and enhance our blockchain node operations, including but not limited to validators, RPCs nodes etc for top blockchain networks such as Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, Sui, Tron etc. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of network architecture design tailored to the unique demands of blockchain technology, ensuring high reliability and security across all operations. We are looking for people to set up and manage critical decentralised web3 infrastructure.

• Setup and manage proof of stake validator nodes using Dockerfiles and Docker compose
• Automation using Ansible and Terraform
• Private mesh networking using Netplan and Wireguard
• Setup monitoring and alerting infrastructure using Prometheus and Grafana
• Build custom tooling in Shell Script/Programming languages to support operations
• Setup and manage bare-metal servers in Datacenter operations

This role is very hands-on and involves taking up high responsibility and ownership. You will also get to open source some part of your work and present it in various conferences across the world.

What will be your daily responsibilities?

• Design, implement, and maintain highly reliable network architectures for blockchain operations.
• Manage and scale blockchain nodes for top PoS chains, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
• Develop and enforce security protocols to safeguard all blockchain nodes and related infrastructure.
• Utilise advanced monitoring tools to continuously track the health and security of the infrastructure, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues related to blockchain operations.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate new technologies and architectures into the existing ecosystem.
• Maintain documentation on network configurations, operations, and troubleshooting procedures.

What qualifications are we looking for in a candidate?

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering role with a focus on blockchain technologies.
• Proven experience in managing and operating blockchain nodes on bare metal as well as on cloud infrastructure, particularly validators, RPC nodes etc for leading blockchain networks. Example: OVH Cloud, Virtualization - Proxmox, VMWare ESXi etc
• Expert knowledge of network security, including but not limited to the deployment of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption technologies. Example: Overlay/SDN Experience: Wireguard, OpenVPN, Tailscale, Nebula, Zerotier etc,
• Strong experience with monitoring tools and technologies for maintaining network health and compliance. Example: Grafana, Prometheus, ELK Stack etc
• Proficient in Linux/Unix administration, scripting languages such as Python or Bash and infrastructure provisioning tools such as Ansible/Terraform etc.
• Extensive experience with Docker and other containerization technologies (Kubernetes, Docker Compose etc).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with other technical teams and stakeholders.

• Certifications in network security or systems management.
• Contributions to open-source projects in the blockchain space.
