Starter of startups that help startups in #pdx — and often elsewhere. Started @Silicon Florist @PIE (Portland Incubator Experiment) @Built Oregon TechfestNW @Oregon Story Board
Rick Turoczy (@Rick Turoczy) has been working in, on, and around venture funded startups for 25+ years. As founder of Silicon Florist, he has supported the Portland startup community for nearly 15 years. As part of that effort, Rick created PIE (the Portland Incubator Experiment), a startup accelerator formed in partnership with global advertising firm Wieden+Kennedy, creators of Nike "Just Do It" and the Old Spice Guy. Over time, PIE has partnered with Autodesk, Coca-Cola, Daimler, Google, Intel, Nike, Target, and others. Those efforts led him to cofound TechFestNW, a destination tech event; Oregon Story Board, a startup accelerator focused on digital storytelling industries; and Built Oregon, a nonprofit focused on the consumer product business community in Oregon.
