I was an early employee at Crowdcube, the world's largest equity crowdfunding platform in the UK. I joined to help set up the London office with 2 others and sell Crowdcube to prospective start ups. When I joined it was beautiful chaos. We were flying by the seat of our pants, running around London closing deals to list on the platform. In the time I was there we scaled the London team from just the 3 of us to over 30. We started doing deals where we'd raise £100K, if we were lucky, for start ups and before long we closing 2-3 £1m+ a month deals. We were sitting alongside amazing VCs and we took 'alternative finance' very much into the mainstream! Selling and working with entrepreneurs is where I feel most comfortable, you have to be birds of a feather to really make it work. :)
